Five-star defensive tackle and Ohio State commit Taron Vincent of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG is headed to Nike's The Opening finals in Oregon this summer.
Shocker.
Rated the No. 1 defensive tackle in the 2018 recruiting class in the 247Sports composite rankings, Vincent participated in the camp's regional in Washington, D.C., on Sunday and earned the invitation.
According to 247Sports recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong, Vincent had a very productive day and clear stood out as one of the camp's best talents.
That's now three of Ohio State's seven commitments who have been invited to The Opening finals in Beaverton, Ore., an invitational-only camp that's reserved only for the elite of the elite talents.
Four-star all-purpose back Jaelen Gill of Westerville (Ohio) South and five-star cornerback Jaiden Woodbey of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco have also been invited.
The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Vincent has been committed to Ohio State since April. He chose the Buckeyes over Florida State and roughly 30 other scholarship offers.
