There are a lot of things that can be taught to these kids that will help them become better players, but dedication, desire and motivation to meet a goal are only things that can be enhanced not taught.
The fact that Rowell has those intangibles at a young age will only serve him well on the field and in life. A lot of kids have eaten their way out of playing time, it is refreshing to see kids work their tail off (even if only to put the fork and spoon down - I know it was more than that) to earn it.
I love the fact that he and Goebel with their motivation and work ethics will be helping lead the way for not only this group but for the future classes. That is not meant to dismiss any of the other players efforts, just that these two with their circumstances (losing weight and keeping off weight as a wrestler) are really in a position to help their teamates do things the right way in order to stay ready to lay it all on the line.
