DT/OL Evan Blankenship (Official Thread)

I tend to feel the same as you JC... Evan stood out at camp for 2 years and the staff was on him for awhile... With a redshirt year, he could be a beast here...
I was very impressed with Evan when I got to talk to him earlier this year for our Straight 6 feature... He was a very polite young man who you could tell wants to get better at what he does, and, most importantly, couldn't wait to be a Buckeye...

Ranked No. 25 in PA by top PA reecruiting service.

25. Evan Blankenship, Center Area (Monaca)- Tough interior lineman that can project at center or guard. At 6’3” and 310 pounds, he needs to get in better shape, but he has good feet for a player his size, along with showing good technique. With his size, you would think he was a road grader type, but he is a rarity in that he is a high school lineman that is a better pass blocker than a run blocker. Committed to Ohio State.

I met Evan at the UM football camp in June, my son attended as well. He stood out from the group of selected lineman that Andy Moeller had been working directly with. I had a lengthly conversation with his Uncle who happened to be there at the same time, he said that UM wanted Evan badly but he (Evan) was waiting for an offer from OSU.

It's good to have a kid like this who is dedicated.
