DT Michael Hall, Jr. (Cleveland Browns)

Hall or Eichenberg but yes, he is most disruptive interior player I can recall at OSU. Still needs to keep proving that through the rest of the season, but the first stretch of games have been unreal. There comes a certain point where you know its not a fluke or accident, and we are at that point with Mr. Hall. Agreed we need him most against Ped and *ichigan, but if he feels how he looked in limited action last week, I think he will be a go against Iowa and we may need him some against them.
Big Eichengurg fan, but he isn't the calibre player of Hall. Hall is a Bosa or Young type player. He will demand a double team and it will transform this defense into a top 3 defense, and lead us to a title. Knowles knows that Hall needs to be doubled so when he healty its going to be nuts.

Go back and watch the ND game or just his 7 snaps last week. He just gets off the ball so fast! Other than Stroud he is the most important player on the roster. It he's not healthy I am doubtful we have enough on the defensive side to win a Natty.

Eichenburg's leadership and play are off the charts with this system. I'm not saying Hall isn't doing great things too, but you're underestimating how talented Eichenburg has been since the Rose Bowl. A lot of the strength of the run defense is Tommy flying to the ball and turning plays into 1-3yd gains and not 4-6yds. That doesn't sound like a big difference, but the former is creating 2nd and 3rd and long scenarios, while last year teams were getting first downs at higher rates and on earlier downs.
Hall has been the dominant interior DL that OSU hasn't had in a while. And he's the type of DL needed to win NCs. But a LB like Tommy will also be a reason why OSU wins big. Tommy can be the Joshua Perry of the defense, a LB who is not often mentioned, but when you see the box score, he leads the team in tackles. Hall is a Michael Bennett 2.0, IMO

  • Day said Mike Hall is "back at full strength" heading into the Iowa game. Hall played only seven snaps against Michigan State, but he still had 2.5 sacks.
  • On Hall’s emergence: “I was very impressed with him last year, just the way he went about his business on the scout team. … Even when he got into games, I was impressed with Mike.” Day says he’s “matured a lot” since last year.

If it weren't for that 2017 game I would almost feel sorry for Iowa. This team at full strength is going to devastate them. Win by at least 50. I expect Hall to have a 3 sack game minimum. They are going to have to pass alot, becaue JSN will catch 3 tds in the 1st Q

  • On Mike Hall's health: "Ty's played extremely well, so he deserves that opportunity (to start)." Knowles says Hall has "really battled" injury. "He's really fought through some things."

Mike Hall, sophomore defensive tackle for Ohio State, could be ready to go for the Buckeyes game against Georgia on Dec. 31 in the College Football Playoff.

Hall has been very limited this season because of undisclosed injuries. In the early parts of the season he looked great and dominant when healthy, but hasn’t been the same because of the injuries throughout the season.
A few weeks off might have been what Hall needed though, because he said Wednesday that he feels much healthier and thinks that he could be ready to go for the CFP.

The Buckeyes could definitely use a healthy Hall as they take on the top-ranked Bulldogs. Georgia has looked dominant all season long and Ohio State will be pulling out all the stops to try to advance to the National Championship.

If Ohio State can make it past Georgia, it could have a chance to take on rival Michigan in the championship. The Wolverines take on TCU on the other side of the bracket.
