It's obvious he's freaking lost. When I saw my OC run up the middle back to back plays for no gain or loss against a 9 man front and he didn't counter the Mfer would be fired whether Gene Smith says so or not.

OSU is not a HC training program. We are an elite CFB program that should have a top 5 coach. Not Jim Tressel's Friends and Family Plan.

Clean house ASAP. Start over. Beat Michigan and win a tinfoil bowl.

Reading some of posts on here makes it seem LF did OSU a favor for taking HC job. He got to do what he loved at the place he loved for at least a year and received a substantial increase in pay. Forgive me but don't understand that reasoning.

Here's to LF finishing the season strong. Go Bucks!

I haven't really seen anybody calling for his retention so much as questioning putting the lion's share of the blame on him when he - unlike most coaches - is not responsible for the entirely of the product that is seen on the field.

I think it's time for a change. I'm not going to equivocate it by saying that I'd like to see him stay on under a new coach or see the defensive staff remain intact. The last ten years were great, but it's time for a new start.

I liken it to maintaining a computer. There are various things you can do to keep it running smoothly, but every once in a while it's best to wipe it completely and do a fresh installation of the operating system to ensure peak performance.

In another thread when people were saying that Fickell was too inexperienced to be the head coach at Ohio State, I argued that was not the case. He has has several years of experience as an assistant at the highest level of college football - his experience is commensurate with that of others who are hired into their first big head coaching job. I still stand by that argument - I don't think inexperience is a problem. Rather, I just think he may not be all that good in the first place. Most people here seem convinced that he will eventually be a great coach, and I was one of them at one time. I'm not so sure anymore, and I'm not afraid anymore of Ohio State perhaps missing their once chance to lock him up.

Its time to move on..he might keep his Offensive staff. One of the greatest eras in TOSU football is over..time to start a New era..Continuity is not always a good thing
