DT Luke Fickell (HC Wisconsin Badgers)

What if he say no? What if we get hammered, and a lot people don't want this job? Urban Meyer is not Jesus Christ and won't save us from the NCAA, a freshmen QB, and a very young team.

Who ever the coach is next year I will cheer my ass off for him. But all the Urban talk is outta hand. He's a great coach, but not [censored]ing Helen Keller.

Urban Meyer could devise a damn gameplan that would utilize our players. Urban kind find ways to make guys fit. Urban could have our offense playing better than it is now.
He is a proven winner, and would be a great addition.

If he says no, he says no. But if he would accept it, great.

He takes Utah to their first BCS bowl and produces the number 1 overall pick in that year's draft (Alex Smith).

He goes to Florida and turns them into a powerhouse with arguably the best recruiting class ever constructed and gave them 2 national titles, one I might add where he kicked our ass. When he leaves, their team turns to shit (they also have 4 losses). He's not Jesus, but he is one of the best coaches in the history of college football. If he is interested in the job, which I think he secretly is, then the University should welcome him with open arms. He does live in Columbus, does he not?

The same Urban Meyer who has John Brently playing in the spread option last year? The same Urban Meyer who went back to the spread after the figured out you can't ran guys like Chris Rainly in the I? UF's offense was horrible last year, and they switched systems MID season. Dude's a great coach, but not Jesus like I said. Anyone else watch a Florida game last year? Meyer looked dejected, worn down, and uninspired all season. That's something that scares me.

Luke didn't choose Bolls to be HIS OC, Jim Tressel did. Not saying that should matter, just pointing it out. Everybody should fucking thank Luke Fickell for stepping up into an almost no win situation. He took one for the team, and knew this would be a tough road. He stepped up when asked, and didn't put it off on anyone else. Knowing that if he did he would probably not be here next year.

I'm not saying hire the guy. I'm saying cut him some fucking slack....

As was Smith.
Oh yeah, that's right. Oh well, freshman, first-year starter... all these things blur together in my cobweb-covered brain.

Then I am glad you're not in charge. It goes beyond just this game today. Just when OSU fans were starting to have some faith in him, then today's game happened.

Urban Meyer please.
Well I'm certainly glad of that fact too, but I would say that I feel like the opinions around here about Luke flip-flop a lot faster than I think is fair, and I think Luke has been judged very harshly for a lot of things that are out of control. Ultimately, he was dealt a very tough deck. When I look at how this season has gone, Luke has caught a lot of flack for things I do not think would have been extraordinary to see under Tressel. Staying for far too long with an older QB over a younger one who is clearly more experienced? I definitely recall that happening under Tressel. A stunning loss at Purdue with a young QB just as the season looked to be turning around? Happened twice under the Vest. Oh, and Bollman? Tressel's guy.

Now, I'm not saying that Fickell should be judged the exact same way we judged Tressel, as after all when Tress had a national championship under his belt by 2004, a season that was remarkably similar to this one so far. But I do think that people have been much too hard on Fickell, considering the circumstances, and I'd question whether many people could be doing better.

This game wouldn't really change Luke's position if I were in charge. Let's not forget that losses @ Purdue with a Freshman QB were the norm under the Vest.

The vest had many successful years of Head Coaching experience prior to his loss at Purdue. Fickell has exactly 0 years of experience and this year really cant be considered a success even if we win the last 2 games which is incredibly suspect at this point.

Today's loss did not help Coach Fickell's case to retain the job of head coach.

Im afraid everyone will be let go..the JT era will officially end after the scUM game...

That might not necessarily be a bad thing. Id hate to lose Heacock and to some extent Drayton, Johnson and Vrabel, but this team just doesn't seem to be improving throughout the year like they should be.
