DT Johnathan "Big Hank" Hankins (Seattle Seahawks)

I think that move, combined with the fact that Bellamy produced in the Jersey scrimmage from that position, tells me that we are two deep with productive, legit SSDE's even if we stay in a 4-3 alignment. That is a tough ass position to play, and it requires an absolute beast of a big athlete to play it. That we have to good-sized guys there makes me feel MUCH better.

The best part is, with the emergence of Big Hank, we are still 2-deep at the defensive tackles, even if we stay in a 4-3.

And he also makes us 2-deep at legit nose-guards too. Most years, Ohio State doesn't even have one legit 3-4 nose guard. Having a second, in a year when your one is a guy with a history of injury, makes me feel MUCH better. I keep saying that... I guess you could say I feel pretty good about the defense.

Agreed, it doesn't matter if you call it a 4-3 or a 3-4 when you have guys who are versatile enough to play a bunch of different spots and allow you to play different schemes without subbing. I would hate to game-plan for our D anytime in the near future, pretty scary and athletic front.

No, No, No, NO!!

Why not not not NOT?

With Moeller back at the star, I could see this being a very likely scenario this year for the Bucks. Would you rather the nickel be a 4-2-5? That seems like a waste of linebacker tallent.

Over who? Our starting DTs are Larrimore and Simon. I can't imagine that he's going to displace either of those guys, but Lord help me if he does. If he's starting over one of those guys, he's really a special player.

Big Hank will be a very solid backup this season. After the way Dex played last night I can't imagine him being replaced and Simon is a different type of DT. Give him a year before he starts.

Agreed, and solid backups on the D-Line get a lot of playing time. We'll be seeing a lot of Big Hank this year and he'll have plenty of experience going into next year.

The only way this happens is if Nathan Williams injury ia much more serious than initially thought, and our best front 4 ends up being:

Heyward
Hankins
Larimore
Simon

Which isn't out of the question with Simon's speed at 285-290 lbs.

I was a bit disappointed in Solomon Thomas' play last night, and then he capped it off with an unnecessary personal foul.

A front four that big and strong is downright scary. i can't imagine trying to run on that front four, and I don't think pressure on the QB would struggle that much...especially judging by the push they got last night with Thomas.
