I am very encouraged. Camp reports he had huge talent, not to mention body. Any frosh needs to acclimate to the program. I think he can be a force this year, even if not a starter. DLinemen are more and more important, I think, so having him succeed ummm much to be desired...to put it mildly.

Go Bucks!

The interior of our Defensive line is fantastic right now. Huge bodies and performing very very well at the moment. I want to see more impact from our LBers though. Each LB has had one good game so far but the way our Dline eats up blocks, they should be racking up the big plays.

Hank is going to be very crucial to the success of our run defense starting this week, Big10 conference games. Hank vs John Clay will be epic in a few weeks!

Yeah I must say I'm loving the way our D-line is playing, but I'm actually mildly disappointed with the overall play of the linebackers/secondary.

Is it me or has the name "Ross Homan" not been called enough?

Love how big hank is playing when he gets in though. He seems to just bull rush through the people he goes up against, and even if he doesn't get the sack he's often collapsing the pocket.

If the Linebackers/Secondary pick it up..........

Just you. He leads the team in tackles (26) and seems to always be around the ball (1 FF, 1 INT already). Not a bad start at all. I've been real impressed and thought he's improved/solidified his draft stock already this season. He had a monster game against Miami.

As for Big Hank- goodness gracious. What a load. Seems like a great kid and I'm glad to see all the work he put in paying off. He's a difference maker now and he'll be a game changer in the years to come.

BIG HANK SHOULD BE A BIG FACTOR AS WELL ... Wisconsin comes into Saturday's game boasting one of the top running games in the conference.

Behind a massive offensive line, tailbacks John Clay and James White, have combined for 1,177 yards and 17 touchdowns in six games this season.

Obviously, the Buckeyes will need their big bodies up front to have a huge performance this Saturday night, and that includes the biggest body of them all ? true freshman defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins.

Heyward thinks the 335-pound native of Detroit should help the Buckeyes not only stop the run, but get pressure on the quarterback when the Badgers decide to pass.

"I think he's become more comfortable with the system. Every week he's talking more and more and it's hard to get him to shut up now," Heyward laughed. "He moves so well for his size and he's just producing, that's all you can ask of a defensive lineman ...

"I think he helps us stop the run even more and he has a really good pass rush. We were surprised by that. We knew he was going to stop the run.

"Even though he's that big, he moves very well."

Here's one person hoping Hankins starts the rest of the way out. I know I don't know as much as the coaches, but I was amazed (upset) that we didn't get this kid in earlier after Wisconsin's offensive line was just plowing us over. Hankins is the only defensive body we have who could stack up with their size. Our run defense got quite a bit better with him in there taking up space. This kid has a seriously bright future.

Yup, trust the coaches and all... but I really thought we'd see more of him during Wisky. We had a birthday party at our house during the game. Kids in the basement, women in the family room, guys watching the game. I said a few times during the game that I would have expected to see more of him.

And you want to play him instead of Dex? Simon? I agree that he is talented but so are our curent starters.
