We usually don't because we don't need to, but OSU has turned kids with offers down in the past.

Did something change in the last couple days? As for us never turning a kid down who had an offer, that's selective memory. We've turned down kids before. Pretty sure Vlad Emilien wanted to commit on a few occasions to us, but we did not allow him because he took to long.

Joel is very excited about the Florida offer and says while he is still open, Florida is definitely near the top.
One other defensive tackle the staff is recruiting is Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove's Joel Hale. Many believe the 6-foot-4, 290-pound Hale is the top prospect in the Hoosier State for the class of 2011. The Spartans, along with more than 20 other schools including Florida and Ohio State, have offered Hale. The Buckeyes are aggressive in Hale's recruitment and viewed as the favorite at this point. Hale is expected to decide before his senior year, so getting him on campus this summer will be important.
