It's also possible he is also holding off on a commitment (if that is what he's indeed doing) because Mike Martin asked him to so that colleges can get a look at Taft's De'Quon Smith and Edmond Hurt, both of whom could figure as FBS prospects.

Question: What has Adolphus Washington done for the Taft program?

Answer: In the neighborhood where we're at, the hard thing is just getting guys to show up. He's always there every day. You can count on him. He has a great work ethic. He wants to get stronger. He wants to get quicker. He's going to start working with a trainer after basketball season is over.

Q: What advice do you give him about the recruiting process?

A: It's going to be crazy for him, because he has no idea where he's going to school. I know he's going to lean on me heavily for guidance, because I've been through the recruiting process.

I've told him about the time when I sat down and talked with Michael Jordan at the jazz festival several years ago. I asked Michael, "How do you do it every day?" He told me that people want to make a name off of him, and he wasn't going to allow that to happen. Adolphus has to be that way, too, because he's going to be a marked man by our opponents.

Is it just me or does it seem like the recruiting updates have slowed down since the latest incarnation of TattooGate ? Anyway Adolphus Washington and Dwayne Stanford will both be playing for a Division III state title today against Cleveland Central Catholic at 4:30 P.M.
Cincinnati Taft defeated Columbus Africentric on Friday, 63-50.

There is a slideshow of photos at the top of the article showing game action. Stanford is No. 23 and Washington is No. 34(w/ full beard).

...by the largest margin in a state championship game ever in the state of Ohio. Washington had 18 and 8.

From watching some of the championship game, I'm having trouble believing Adolphus is a better football player than a basketball player. Less than four minutes into the game, he had already hit two three point shots from the top of the arc. No doubt in my little mind he could help the Buckeye basketball team.

I also have to comment, Adolphus is one really mature young man. Not only does he have an NBA ready body, he sports a very dense full beard. He could pass himself off as Baron Davis' big brother.
