Cincinnati (OH) Taft High School junior defensive end Adolphus Washington is one of the top defensive ends in the country for 2012. His offer list is up to 18 schools including Ohio State, Florida State, Michigan State, South Florida and Cincinnati to name a few.
Washington is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete who not only excels at football, but basketball as well. He's a nationally ranked power forward.
Florida State started recruiting Washington around the same time (mid-October) they began recruiting a former Taft High School standout, who Washington is familiar with, Tank Carradine. Carradine is now committed to FSU and set to enroll in the coming days.
"I know (defensive line) coach DJ Eliot has talked to my coach and I've got a bunch of mail," said Washington. "I'm really looking into Florida State. I've heard some great things about the school and the coaches."
"I know Tank (Carradine) committed to FSU. If he's going there, then I know I'll like it!"
Adolphus Washington will play basketball in the spring and then set aside time in the summer to travel around the country attending college team camps.
"My coach and I are going to plan it all out, I'm not sure where I'll go. I want to get to Alabama and Florida State for sure."
Washington isn't ready to name a favorite, but he does have a group of schools that are beginning to stand out.
"I like Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Notre Dame, Kentucky and Michigan State."
