maybe but when you see somebody drinking with a glossy face and a pictured captioned "drunken pirate", there is a pretty solid conclusion to be formed. its a liability because she COULD get drunk and show up to work early. it has the potential to hurt the school of choice's name and children being taught. no different than NFL teams giving suspensions or fines for off the field conduct issues. if this university feels they have a platform to base it off of then so be it.

I don't see her getting paid millions of $$$ or her signature on a contract prohibiting her to consume alcohol on her own time. You cannot charge someone for something they didn't do preemptively. If that is the case then I am going to charge you with being a Nazi (belief in no civil freedoms) and with your preemptively policy, I might have a legitimate case against you.

the same civil liberty that causes deaths by drunk drivers or cirrhosis? it is pretty understandable to look at alcohol as a frequently abused "liberty". i am pretty sure the troops in iraq are not fighting so you can sip a couple brews.
good grief! i absolutely ABHOR the 'people are dying' argument. you know, what, on a long enough time frame, the mortality rate is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. i don't give a shit if someone wants to drink until their liver literally jumps out of their body. they're going to die anyway. and so are you, whether you eat vegan and exercise constantly, or smoke gigs, guzzle beer, and eat cheeseburgers 24/7. what? do you want to live forever? that ain't gonna happen in this shell we exist in. life in this body is pretty much over after 70 or 80 years. why would you possibly want to sit around for another 10 or 20 years just waiting to die?

ME? no. personally, i don't want to slip away peacefully into the night at a ripe old age. i want to slam into the coffin sideways, with a beer in one hand and a shotgun in the other, yelling "WHOOOOO! what a RIDE!!!!"

so legalize weed
so legalize cocaine
so legalize amphetamines
so legalize etc.

cheeseburgers while unhealthy serve their purpose of being a source of food. alcohol does not serve any purpose in hydrating the body....in fact does exactly the opposite.

Beer is good for you to.

A pint of beer may help protect against heart disease more effectively than red wine or spirits, researchers have found.

While the health benefits of red wine have long been touted by scientists, a letter in medical journal The Lancet suggests that the odd pint may also be a good idea. Beer contains vitamin B6 which prevents the build up in the body of a chemical called homocysteine - thought to be linked to an increase in the risk of heart disease

beer contains so little vitamin B6 that youwould have to consume large amounts to obtain any value which ultimately leads it to a catch 22. the only argument you could make is is red wine which carries antioxidants and the minute amount of alcohol(half a glass) can help dissolve plaque in the linings of arteries to prevent athersclerosis.
