Draymond Green gets 1-game ban; Sabonis questionable for Game 3

The NBA has suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green for one game for stepping on the chest of the Sacramento Kings' Domantas Sabonis, the league announced Tuesday night.

"The suspension was based in part on Green's history of unsportsmanlike acts," the NBA said in a statement.

Green has been called for six flagrant fouls and 27 technical fouls in 147 career playoff games.

This is the second time Green will serve a suspension during the playoffs. The other occurred in the 2016 NBA Finals after he accumulated too many flagrant fouls in the playoffs that season, culminating in Green hitting LeBron James in the groin after the two got tangled up in Game 4. Earlier in those playoffs, Green was ejected for kicking Oklahoma City's Steven Adams in the groin.

In 2018, the Warriors suspended Green for one game without pay for "conduct detrimental to the team" following an altercation with then-teammate Kevin Durant. Earlier this season, Green spent time away from the team after punching Warriors guard Jordan Poole during practice.

Twitter kids, aka Warriors fans, can't understand why Draymond's history has anything to do with his punishment. Never mind how he tried to rile up the crowd after his ejection. Oh, by the way, the Commissioner was in the house and saw it all. Of course they came down on him.

For a real trip, I’d like to ask any current Warriors “fan” to name ANY player on the 76 title team…I bet 99/100…at least…would have zero fucking clue they even played basketball before 2010

Just a guess but would one be Nate Thurman? My other guess would be Rick Barry? Though I am not a Golden State fan or the San Francisco Warriors as they were originally known…

Barry was on that team, along with two-time All Star guard Phil Smith (RIP). Thurmond was traded before the season for Clifford Ray.

My Dad told me that when Nate Thurman was at BGSU he worked with him during the summers…and my Dad and the rest of the guys struggled to put up these incredible heavy and unwieldy item as they had to bend down and use both hands. Nate barely bent down and picked the item with one hand which was easy for him since his hands were so large….

His last collegiate win - over ND in the NCAA tournament. Look how small the ball looks in his hands. :yow2:

I'm a Warriors fan but I would hate this suspension for anyone else too. You should only get suspended for a playoff game if's something completely out of line, not for a 3 second skirmish where noone got hurt. Everyone just needs to calm down, take a deep breath and move on to the next game in a situation like that.

Nah, sorry. It was more than a 3 second skirmish when you add in Green clowning it up afterwards. All you needed was one fan to get so riled up they throw something or take a swing then all hell breaks loose.

Besides, you don't get the benefit of the doubt when you've made a career of being a problem child. Green has been called for six flagrant fouls and 27 technical fouls in 147 career playoff games.

I guess it was a little different, but he got suspended from a Finals game for punching Lebron in the nuts. The problem is he's done stupid shit like this his whole career so the league is more likely to come down on him. If any other Warriors player did it I don't think they get suspended, although Steph has a long history of getting kicked out of games for chucking his mouthpiece. As a Cavs fan they can both eat a bag of dicks and I wish nothing but the worst for the whole organization.
