Warriors' Draymond Green says he's the 'best defender to ever play in the NBA,' and he has a legitimate case

"I think I'm the best defender to ever play this game," Green said. "One-hundred percent, that's my opinion. But I also think I view the game a lot differently than most people view the game. I think I just see it from a different perspective. I think when you look at the things that make a great defender: reaction time, toughness, being able to see the picture long before it develops, and most importantly, in order to finish a defensive possession, you've got to rebound. And I think I rebound well. And so when I look at all the facets that make up the defensive side of the ball, I'm think I'm great in every facet. So I'm think I'm the best defender to ever play in the NBA. I'll stand by that. I'll put myself up against anyone."

Draymond is the NBA’s all-time leader in needing to shut the fuck up.

The best defender in the history of "this game" should have at least been recognized in college for his defensive prowess, right? So looking back at historical awards, I failed to find Draymond as ever having won B1G Defensive Player of the Year. Aaron Craft did win B1G DPOY, however, in their one year of overlap. Craft would go on to win it again a couple seasons later (after being nice enough to let Victor Oladipo win one in between). Draymond must have been a late bloomer.

Just Draymond Green being Draymond Green (again):

Warriors’ Draymond Green ejected from Game 2 for stomping on Domantas Sabonis

The Warriors lost the game and Draymond Green lost his cool again — leading to his ejection.

The Golden State star stomped on the chest of Kings forward Domantas Sabonis and was tossed with 7:03 left in the fourth of an eventual 114-106 Game 2 loss in Sacramento on Monday night.

The incident occurred after Malik Monk took a shot from the right elbow and Sabonis went crashing to the court trying to get the rebound after potentially getting tangled up with Klay Thompson.

Sabonis, who appears to clip the leg of Thompson running back down court, then grabbed at Green’s right ankle while on the court.

Green, after getting his leg free, then proceeded to use it to stomp near Sabonis’ ribs — leaving him in visible pain.

“My leg got grabbed,” Green told reporters after the game. “Second time in two nights. Referees just watching. I got to land my foot somewhere, and I’m not the most flexible person so it’s not stretching that far.”

He said Monk tried to do it in Game 1.

Things got even stranger from there.

As the referees met to determine Green’s punishment, the former Defensive Player of the Year started jawing with and riling up the Kings fans behind the Warriors’ bench, with his team down 91-87 at the time.

Green even stood on a chair after motioning them to keep the engagement coming.

“I was just having fun,” Green said.

Green’s Flagrant 2 won’t warrant a suspension, since it’s his first of the postseason and worth two points toward the four needed to be docked a game.

I love how he always has an excuse for why he does this shit. I'm not flexible and I move weird. Guy grabs you leg, you fall down and make a scene he gets a T and you keep playing dumbass. Now you get to watch the rest of the playoffs from home after you get suspended for a game and the Warriors lose to the Queens.
