SPRINGFIELD, Mo. ? The numbers can measure size, speed and statistics.

Six-feet-six inches and 220 pounds. 4.37 seconds to run 40 yards. 181 receptions, 4,120 yards. 51 touchdowns.

The numbers show why Dorial Green-Beckham, the wide receiver from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, is at the top of every Division I college football team's 2012 recruiting list.

But the numbers can't fully explain how the 18-year-old got to where he is today.

I'll definitely have to drive across town to see this kid play sometime. Not sure if it was posted but rumored that Charlie Weiss came up to Hillcrest and visited. Would be amazing to see this kid in Scarlet and Gray!

I used to live in West Plains. Do you know if Hillcrest plays Mt. Grove or West Plains this year. I would think that they play Ozark and the other big schools but Mt. Grove is pretty good. Just wondering.

Mtn. Grove doesn't play Hillcrest. I'm not sure about West Plains. Actually Grove is going downhill. They went 4-6 last year. It was the first losing season since 2001. They also lost to Salem for the first time since 2001. Grove's big matchup was last week against Cassville. They lost 35-14, but it's better than last years 40-7 beating.
