Don't Operate Heavy Machinery While Watching Bowl(Browns at Lions -4.5)

I didn't see the play but I'm surprised to hear they called PI on a hail mary at the end of the game. Was it that blatant? You never see that called.

It was a lot of contact, but I didn't like the call. There was a Brown in position to pick it off (which he did) even if there wasn't any PI.

Yeah, but the ball was not close to being there yet when Calvin Johnson was already being tackled and he was sideways about 4 feet in the air. If there was no need for PI, then it deserved to be called. Especially when it is that flagrant.

I'm glad I have the buckeyes.

There was a Detroit player that ran out of the back of the endzone that was directly behind the play that wasn't being allowed to come back in. That had to be what they called it on, but even if that guy would've made the catch would it have been legal? There was a lot of shit going on. I think people would be screaming bloody murder about it if either of the teams involved actually mattered or played in NY or Boston.

You didn't see Calvin Johnson get bridged?

The PI was bull[censored]. Without the contact, there's no way he can catch a ball that had no chance to get to him. The officials should have kept the flag in the pocket.

But it does no good to bitch much more about it. Mangini allowed the team to pass on 3rd and 5 with 2:00 left and the Lions had no timeouts. Detroit would have only had 1:20 at the most to drive more than 80 yards with no timeouts. Mangina gave them an extra 40 seconds.

Then to boot: he calls a timeout, allowing Detroit to put Stafford back on the field instead of an ice-cold Daunte Culpepper.

FAIL!

This might be my fault. I listened (on the radio)to the first half of the Ravens game, and the defense was playing incredibly well. I got home during halftime, turned the channel to the game, and the Browns almost immediately gave up 14 points. I turned off the game in disgust, and they were able to play the rest of the game without giving up too much more.

I decided to work some OT on Sunday, and left work around game time. I listened to the entire first quarter on the radio, and the Browns were up 24-3 when I finally got out of the car. I went inside and turned on the TV. By the time I had to turn off the game to run some errands, the score was 27-24.

I wasn't in the room during the Cribbs return against the Vikings.

I had the DVR paused for a good chunk of the Bengals game, and only caught up to the game for the final FG.

The only portion of the Steelers game that I saw was where Cleveland and Pittsburgh exchanged 5 consecutive turnovers.

I watched the entire Bills game, but I was at King Ave. 5, and was only half paying attention to that horse abortion.

My conclusion. If I only listen to the radio, then the Browns play well, and have a real chance to win games. If I only kind of pay attention, or don't even watch, then the Browns play less bad, and don't completely embarrass themselves. If I watch the game, and really pay attention, the Browns are the worst team ever. I'm going to miss seeing the Browns fail miserably in High Def, but I think that it's best for everyone, if I just stop watching them.
