Dominique Brown (Louisville signee)

I'm suprised no one is talking about Brown as a future TE, he's already 215lbs in high school. If he redshirts next year, then by the time he's a 3rd year sophmore he could be 240lbs+.

Not sure if he really is a legit 215, and even then weight is not a huge determinant for TE. Gotta be able to block very well in our scheme and have enough strength to do so, and asking all of that from Brown would be an incredible task and would not put him in a position to be successful, imo.

Brown is far too talented with play making ability to waste some years on a projected move to TE.

WR or Safety. Leaning more to O.

I was figuring that the scheme and the use of the TE will change since Stoneburner is now the #1 TE and doesn't fit the current mold. If that does happen, then Brown could possibly follow.

Dominique Brown a Buckeye?
Posted by rernst January 15th, 2010

Winton Woods senior quarterback Dominique Brown, who last summer committed to the University of Cincinnati, on Thursday received a scholarship offer from Ohio State. Winton Woods coach Troy Everhart confirmed the offer.

Brown helped lead Winton Woods to a 13-2 record and its first state title. He was the Ohio Division II offensive co-player of the year.

Brown threw for 723 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for 1,998 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Ohio State was at Winton Woods for about three hours on January 4th to watch Brown.

I think the staff thinks they have filled all of their needs and this is a "next best player, regardless of position" offer. Could be wrong though.

Agreed. Brown is just too talented to pass up on. I think we were trying to fill a need/talent with Floyd and when he opted to Florida, they decided to go for the best talent left and an Ohio talent at that. I think southcampus also has a point though, nobody outside Dane and DeVier is proven, plus both could be gone after next year. We have promise at WR but it couldn't hurt to add someone like Dom Brown.

Winton Woods was the best HS team in Ohio last year regardless of division, IMHO.

When they jumped on Moeller 28-0 in week 1 I could believe it....when they allowed Moeller to score 35 unanswered points I don't think I could.

Brown was going to be a starting DB next year at UC no question. He's a damn good athlete and is pretty tough. I could see him playing WR or DB at OSU. He's big and he has good speed. not 'great speed' but good speed. I can only assume he had to show the work in the classroom to earn the OSU offer. I think he would be a good fit in Columbus.

I thought he looked 215 last year from field level when I watched the WW v. Anderson regional final at Princeton.

Report: Buckeyes Offer Dominique Brown
Posted by Bucknuts News Staff on Jan 15, 2010 at 12:44 pm

QB/ATH Dominique Brown of Cincinnati Winton Woods has been a name tossed around for weeks as a possible candidate for an Ohio State scholarship offer.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the offer finally came Thursday night.

The 6-foot-2 and 210-pound Brown led Winton Woods to a 13-2 record and the Division II state championship during his senior season. He ran for 1,998 yards and passed for over 600.

Brown told recruiting analyst Bill Kurelic earlier this week that he was not planning on deciding before signing day and wanted to take all five of his visits.

At that size and athleticism he really could end up in a lot of places (WR, TE, S, maybe even LB). Add 20 lbs and he could be a terror on D.

Buddy of mine made the same comment tonight at the Colerain basketball game...Thought Brown would be an unstopable beast at LB.

I've thought that LB was the position he projects best at, but I would like to see him play Star like Moeller. I think his skill set and size bodes well for him there, as size and physicality are no issue.
