well I gained respect for Texas after our series but I am not a fan of their program. So when OSU isn't playing I will root for Texas and the main reason is what I heard this weekend from their coach.
Mac Brown on the radio I think the "mike terico show" had some great things to say about Vince Young, but also really made me proud to be a buckeye. He was asked what he made of USC killing us last weekend, and he said something along these lines....
" Well I just don't understand how people can get on Ohio State. They've been #2 in the nation now for two straight years, and thats better than any program can say. I hate to see people beat up Jim Tressel too because he's a great person, and runs a great program, that has a ton of tradition. Another thing I took from the game is that USC is the best team in the country with Missouri and Oklahoma trying to get in with them"
Not exactly like that but pretty much was like that. Saying our program was tremendous and people need to lay off. His tone of voice sounded sincere and very aggitated that people actually have been hot on our tails for losing some big games lately. So I'm a fan now of Texas outside of our games. Not to mention the posters who came here did a great job of staying cool and having a great thread which made the game seem that much bigger. I was really expecting more out of USC fans this off season and it just shows me that OSU/Texas fans are one of a kind.

3. The Big Ten- That includes TSUN ( The more they win the better it is when we crush them at the end of the season). But im particularly fond of Michigan State (since Dantonio took the reigns from John L. Smith) Wisconsin, and Penn State.
4. Boston College
5. Rutgers
6. Any in-state team, The MAC, and The Big East(especially during basketball season).
In general im just a fan of college football and college sports in general.

Fond is not the four letter word that comes to mind when I think of Wisconsin and Penn State. I root for scUM when they play high-profile games out of conference (sister graduated from there. It's a black mark on a family full of Ohio State fans
). I feel like a whore when doing it and am always smiling inside (and outside) when they shit the bed. Watching them beat Florida last year brought me great joy. My second favorite team is Baylor. My family moved to Waco when I was in seventh grade and I have numerous friends from high school who went to school there. I actually had a pretty good friend from high school start at QB there a couple years ago. The most fun I've ever had at a basketball game, besides the upset over #1 Illinois, was at Baylor's upset over #2 Kansas in 2002. Just a stunning upset that came from nowhere. We stormed the court after the game and that was just a badass experience.
That being said, there is nothing close to my love for Ohio State football. I follow other teams in other sports, but they all play second fiddle to Ohio State football.
