I've donated every 8 or 9 weeks for several years.

I don't get paid now, like the 100 or so times I donated plasma to get beer money back in the tOSU days.

Give blood? You only get a cookie if you are lucky. Plasma is better... you get money that way.

As far as organ donating... I plan on abusing all of mine before I am done so I am doing you a favor by not letting them take it

I have heard that donating Plasma hurts like hell. Is this true?

I donate blood every few months.

I used to work with a guy who gave every two months and loved it because he could drink cheaper than normal on nights he donated.

I work at Nationwide and they make it very easy to give. They allow you to do it at work during the two days the bloodmobile comes to our building, and they give a $2 credit at the cafe plus 4 hours off. I'd probably donate anyway, it just makes it nice.

Do they still have it where you can work through your four hours off and save the half days for future use?

Yeah, they're pretty flexible. They don't pay market salaries in many cases, but a lot of the benefits more than make up for it.

I got tired of all the costs for storing my blood so I keep it in my freezer... I use my neighbors Tupperware to transport it to my apartment. Accidents happen... I want to be prepared.
