It doesn't matter if our definitions are or aren't the same it only matters if you think it is inherent and once admiting that it does then you are qualified to answer the question of the thread. your concept nor mine have nothing to do with it, only your opinion in answering the thread question.
You are extrapolating a subjective answer from my responses. I never once said it was inherent. I am not exactly sure what you really mean when you say that. Just because I stated that, within my own realm of belief, that evil exists, does not mean that for everyone, or as a general statement, it must be an undeniable fact.
It seems at though you believe inherent means "without question" or possibly "forgone conclusion" and I refuse to allow that as a final statement because it isn't even close to what I have been saying. My agreeing that evil exists does not preclude any other opinions or beliefs. LOOK UP SUBJECTIVE.
The thread title is "Do you believe people are basically evil?"
Believing that evil exists, as a subjective concept, does not, in any way, mean that I , as an individual, believe that people, in general, are evil. That is, undeniably, a SUBJECTIVE opinion. Trying to paint me into a corner with regards to what my personal idea of what evil is doesn't have a damn thing to do with the price of tea in china or the popular belief regarding humans being "basically evil."
