DL Willie Mobley (transfer to Orange Coast, Arizona and NMSU)

Speaking of classy, Willie will not be taking the official to Tennessee (or anywhere else it appears) because he thinks it would be disrespectful to OSU, even if he was really only going on the visit to Knoxville because it's a free trip to one of the best college towns in America and a once in a lifetime chance to see the country. As I said before I was not worried to begin with. Now you all are seeing why...Willie is all Buckeye now.

Info just came via PM...

I'd say that, right now, Mobley is a SDE opposite Nathan Williams as the LEO, especially with the commitment from Rowell. Now, if we can bring in Keith Wells, I think that may be the tipping point to move Willie to Fullback or to DT, depending on the development of Rowell there. The great part about Willie is his versaility on the line. He's a very good player, and possibly an even better person. Willie fits a "Tressel Recruit" persona to a T.

A Good Thing

It's very positive for a player to be able to play multiple positions if they are that versatile and a great athlete. Almost every player at tOSU wants to pursue the NFL and a players' value increases if they can play multiple positions and help the team in many ways. The more you can do, the more valuable you become, and the more sought after that player will be. It pays to have an open mind.

No doubt about that, I guess I'm just stating my preference to see Willie on the Dline, presumably at tackle by 2009.

I only differ with the "once in a lifetime chance to see the country" part of this.

As a Buckeye, he'll hopefully get the chance to see Miami, Pasadena, Glendale, and New Orleans over his four years.

As a Vol, he could have toured Atlanta, Memphis, Tampa, and Shreveport instead. Although I guess he could have worn longer cleats while doing so...

Glad to see Willie's actions.

Ohio State, which recently landed Eden Prairie's Willie Mobley, has made 6-7, 303-pound Cretin-Derham Hall sophomore offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson its No. 1 recruiting target for 2010.

Mobley attended the Timberwolves-Golden State Warriors game Wednesday night wearing an Ohio State sweatshirt and said he remains firmly committed to the Buckeyes

Making of the Brew Crew: Willie Mobley...focusing on Willie's relationship with his mother (who immigrated from Iran during the Iran/Iraq conflict) and what it means to Willie to be a Buckeye.

BG deserves some serious credit for this series he has put together...

After reading Bill's article about Willie and after hearing what Willie has told the other verbals re: other visits, I would be shocked if this info was accurate...this really seems to be a case of the Tennessee sites holding on to some hope that he might make an official to Knoxville:

Curtis and Mobley reschedule visits : Football Recruiting : GoVolsXtra.com

De?Anthony Curtis and Willie Mobley did not take their official trips to Tennessee this weekend as previously planned. Both are expected to reschedule for next weekend.

Again, I would be shocked if that visit happens...
