Up to 21 offers with the recently added Irish offer, Bennett is building on the relationship he started with that staff at Cincy... Most schools are telling him he could play offense or defense & he doesn't state a preference... He's only seen OSU, Cincy, & Ball State so he wants to take some visits before naming leaders... No time table...

In the Class of 2011, Kenny Hayes, Braxton Miller, Trey DePriest, Cardale Jones, Steve Miller, Doran Grant and many others have all be a top of one list or another. And all for very good reason. They are all elite

However, as we continue our examination of junior tape from the 2009 season, I think I have found one guy who we can safely add to that list of elites. In fact, he is a guy who could ultimately push Braxton Miller for that coveted top spot.

That player would be Centerville's two-way lineman Michael Bennett.
Honestly, I don't care how big he is or how fast, I don't care much about his reach or wing span, his bench, squat and power clean also be disregarded.

The things about him I like are his ability to get off the ball, compete, and finish. The way he destroys each defender one after another in the same exact dominating fashion, you just walk away from the film totally amazed.

This is how a DT needs to play... A lineman holds you - hip toss him; a RB tries to submarine you - step on him; a ball carrier gets your outside shoulder - squeeze, redirect, take a flat line down the LOS, & arrive with bad intentions... I want Bennett in S&G!

Floyd I would go with only because he is more physically developed and had proven athleticism with a legit 310 lb. frame. However, Bennett could be the better player developing down the line...he has tons of potential. As sepia pointed out, I am surprised there wasn't more buzz on the kid than there was early on. In any event, I could see Bennett as high as the #2 player in the state by the end of the year.

It's also how a OL should play. Pancake EVERYONE who goes up against you. :biggrin: This guy is a beast....

Well, with the talent that rr is accumulating in AA, he would probably start on both sides of the ball from day 1. Of course, by the time he'd show up on campus as a Freshman, Barwis !!!1 and rr will probably be unemployed.

Prefers defense (it feels more natural)... Lists his top schools as OSU, 'Bama, Northwestern, Cincy, & Notre Dame... Likes that Tressel & his staff are good people but will push you to be your best... Hopes to commit after taking some visits in the Spring... He's a black belt in Tae Kwon Do which really helps his coordination & body control...

The thought of Bennett unleashing some kung fu on me is so scary I think I pee'd a little...

From GBW...up to 26 offers including Oklahoma, Nebraska, Northwestern, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa...wants to at least visit Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Northwestern and Cincinnati this spring and then decide at the end of the spring...no favorites.
