Well, I hope that this means that he'll get his diploma in spring. Going from academically ineligible to a diploma would be a nice ending, all things considered.

To be honest, with a good spring, he should plug right in at 5 tech where Andrew Brown played.

5? Really? Not questioning you, I’ve not seen him play enough to know one way or another. But I thought he was a 3 all the way. Shows you how much I know...

Last time I checked they ran a 3-4, the base positions in that front is a 5 tech, 0/shade, and another 5 tech.

DYLAN THOMPSON, DEFENSIVE TACKLE, VIRGINIA
Thompson never really did big things for the Buckeyes, and was actually taken off scholarship after being ruled academically ineligible. He played in two games last season, and ended his Ohio State career with three tackles and 0.5 tackles for a loss.
Thompson, unsurprisingly, had a rocky road to start his career at Virginia. This timeline gives an excellent look at how his Cavaliers career originally unfolded.
He still has yet to play for Virginia this season. Time is running out.

DYLAN THOMPSON, STILL STRONG. If you're wondering what Dylan Thompson's up to these days, the former Buckeye appears to have gotten extremely good at picking up very heavy things and putting them down again – a skill my fiancée tells me I should develop in the very near future.
I don't mean to slander someone who could quite clearly snap me in half like a Ticonderoga pencil – so bear with me here – but I had no idea how Dylan Thompson remained on Ohio State's roster for as long as he did.
I mean, Urban Meyer actually told the media that he needed to "Do something. And underline that. Do something" four months before he was ruled academically ineligible. At the time, I assumed that would be all she wrote, but he stuck around for more than a year after that.
Maybe this is why, because I'd have no problem keeping him around just to teach my team how to lift by example. As long as he shows up every day and does that to set the tone, we're all good.
