DL Adam Bellamy (R.I.P.)

I've said it before, but I love this offer at DT

Congrats, Adam!

With his frame, he'll probably be able to play at around 300+ lbs. This gives us another solid option to play the role of "plugger" on the D-line. If he red-shirts to add weight and strength, he could be a big help in the rotation as early as his RS Fr. season.

2010:

NT:
Larimore - 6'3, 305
Rowell 6'4, 315
Bellamy 6'4, 300

DT:
Goebel - 6'5, 290
Mobley - 6'2, 280
Simon - 6'3, 290

Congrats Adam!

One of my great friends from college had Aurora's HC as his high school QB coach and he keeps in touch w/ him.

from an email earlier today (not earth shattering, but it was @ 9:07AM):

Small world, my High School QB coach and offensive coordinator in high school has been Aurora's head coach for the last 6 years (3 state playoff appearances in the last 3 years). I played phone tag with him yesterday and Bob (the head coach) said he talked with Bollman and Tressel, they offered the kid at their camp. He will make a decision no later than weeks end.Bob says he?ll commit.

Bellamy is actually from Boston, moved to Cleveland in 8th grade. He is a hockey player (James Lauranitis anyone) and baseball (1st base). Bob said he is a great kid, explosive motor and a good student (4.0 GPA).

Everything is true except I don't think the 4.0 GPA. He's a smart kid and picks up stuff quickly especially football wise, but 4.0 might be just a minor stretch. But like I said he's a smart kid who probably would have been a college student even if he wasn't playing football.
