Being nostalgic, and thinking back on some the the most terrible things I know of in the history of sports are things like the Marshall plane crash, the Evansville plane crash, the Figure skating team plane crash, the Bluffton bus crash, and the worst of all, the execution of the Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics. Just a few quick examples of the injustices that are out there every single day, and you never know when you're gonna get hit with one.
This story, on the other hand, is disturbing and reprehensible beyond comprehension, because even though it happened within the "sports" world, it has nothing to do with "sports." Any of all of those involved here that had knowledge of these incidents and did nothing don't deserve to lose their jobs, they deserve to lose their freedom! From Jo-Pa to the grad-ass that witnessed the anal rape of a 10 year old boy and all the way up and down the line, these people are criminals in my mind and need to be dealt with accordingly.
In a previous life, 24-14 years ago, I was a Child Abuse caseworker. Now I want all you parents out there to take a good, hard look at how you would feel about sitting down next to a 6 year old child that you never met before in your life and having her recount to you how bad it hurt when "daddy put his pee-pee in my wee-wee." I love sports and sports quotes, but THAT quote from that little girl, well, just rest assured that I'll take that one to my grave.
Granted, these are all "allegations" at this point, and in this country you're entitled to "due process" I believe is the term. BUT, IMO, anyone who walks this planet with knowledge of a chilld having been raped or molested of whatever you wanna call it and looks the other way is as guilty as the perpetrator themself.
Thats All
No "Peace" in this thread.
