Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

Pete Thamel of the NY Times said that they based their story about Joe's exit being planned from a couple of highly-placed officials at PSU. Thamel said that Paterno hasn't yet been told about their decision/planning. He also said that the Governor of Pennsylvania will be attending the PSU Board of Trustees meeting on Friday. He said he didn't know whether or not JoePa would be allowed to coach this week's game.

See ya later, old man! Will there be anyone left after the Board is done to coach the team? I really don't see how you can leave anyone on staff. The tension had to be enormous, and people had to be curious.

I have no idea if it was McQ or not, but if it was, it is hard to be quite as critical of him. Presumably he walked in on something that would shock anyone. After that, you have no idea if the perp is armed or not....

naked in a shower with a little boy and he MIGHT BE ARMED?

SERIOUSLY???

read what you wrote, man!

It's really a shame to see such a legacy end in such a way. Joe represented how a program should be run Morally, Academically, and Athletically. To see his legacy torn down like this just sucks. It sucks balls. Mainly because it wasn't really his fault.

Sure he could have done more, but when I put myself in his position I don't see it from that side of the coin as much. It is very easy to say he should have done better, or that he didn't do what was right, but put yourself in his shoes. If you had a friend who you worked with for that many years, how would you react if someone told you they had committed a horrible, horrible crime? Would you immediately see to it that he was arrested and convicted?

I would pray that God, Great Spaghetti Monster or the Spirit of Francis Albert Sinatra would give me the wisdom and courage to look beyond my friendship with a monster and put myself in the mind of a scared, helpless 10 year old boy who was being ass-raped in a shower by a man of authority he had trusted. I would notify the proper municipal and state authorities to arrest my friend and then trust that the wheels of justice would turn fairly for both my friend and his alleged victims.

But that's just me. I don't have THE LEGACY to protect.

Oh, and by the way, I would stop calling him (it) my friend.

Please refrain from having Jt's name and Joe Pa's name in the same paragraph or story..JT broke NCAA rules..the most powerful and respected man in Happy Valley who could've fired and had Sandusky arrested with one phone call and been a true hero decided to aide and then cover-up a child rapist who was an out of control psychopath..JT was wrong ....Joe Pa is going to HELL

I don't think anyone is comparing the severity of the offense -- at least I wasn't. It's more about the absurdity that the NCAA rulebook defines a clear punishment for a walk-on getting food from the wrong buffet line, yet there isn't a rule to punish covering up at least 11 years of child molestation and endangering hundreds of thousands of students and athletes that have passed through the university while Sandusky was on the premises.

What are you talking about? The grand jury investigation report is out. Have you read it? Joe knew, the testimony said so. People aren't speculating here. This is only going to get worse as more information comes out from new victims. This isn't going to get smaller for Joe, it will stay the same or get much worse.

It probably will. I don't like passing judgement until its all over. But then, who am I to judge.

Court: Sandusky can't be alone with grandchildren
8:17pm on Nov 8, 2011; Modified: 8:19pm on Nov 8, 2011

Jerry Sandusky is not allowed to be alone with his grandchildren, under a temporary order approved in Centre County Court.
Prothonotary Debra Immel said the order issued by Judge Thomas Kistler on behalf of three children states that the children, who live with both of their parents in a shared custody arrangement, can not be in the presence or at the home of their paternal grandfather, Sandusky, without supervision.
There are to be no overnight visits at Sandusky?s home in State College.
Sandusky is accused of sexually abusing eight boys he met through the nonprofit organization for at-risk children that he founded. Two Penn State officials face perjury charges for their testimony to the grand jury in the case.
