A judge has scheduled a 1 p.m. hearing July 11 for Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the two former Penn State administrators charged with lying to a grand jury investigating child sex abuse allegations againstJerry Sandusky.

Schultz, the former university Vice President, and Curley, the Athletic Director on administrative leave, are also charged with failing to report allegations of child abuse. Both men maintain their innocence.

Dauphin County Judge Todd Hoover also set an Aug. 1 deadline for the Attorney General's office to turn over evidence to the defendants. Curley and Schultz have until Sept. 17 to file pre-trial motions.

Earlier this month, prosecutors alleged Schultz "created, maintained and possessed" asecret file on the university's investigation into allegations that former football coach Mike McQueary reported seeing Sandusky with a boy in a locker room shower. Documents in the file are inconsistent with statements Curley and Schultz made to the grand jury, prosecutors allege.

Jerry Sandusky verdict: Jurors ask for clarification in case of alleged Victim 8

Jurors asked a question relating to the case of alleged Victim 8 at about 2:45 pm in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case. Jurors are in their second day of deliberations.

In the Victim 8 case, a janitor testified he saw Sandusky grab a young boy's hand as he left the coaches' locker room one night in 2000, and his colleague who had been in the locker room cleaning became very upset, saying he saw a "dirty man" licking the boy's privates.

The jurors' question was about the legal term "excited utterance" and about circumstantial evidence. The judge reminded them they can't only rely on what the testifying janitor said, but must first believe there is some other evidence of a crime, too.

The janitor who said he witnessed something that night suffers from Dementia and couldn't testify.

The defense has argued that wasn't enough evidence to even bring charges but the judge ruled the jury would decide.

This indicates, to me, that they are going through charge by charge. Doesn't look like they have someone on the jury who is just going to dig their heels in and vote to acquit on all counts.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Could be a good sign for guiltiness

So they're going at this charge by charge? I think that was the instruction given them. I'm optimistic, but that means they have more than 40 charges to go, right?

I don't think so...I think there were only 10 victims pertinent to this case, so with 50 counts, that's like 5 per victim...so they could be almost done? Not sure though?

Probably means they believe guilt and are sorting out what are best cases for a chargeable crime. That will be a lot of work right there. (40-50 charges)
Maybe they find him guilty on just a couple charges.
