You can change the settings for series recordings, and set how many episodes to keep. Perhaps it is set to 5/6 at the moment.

Yep, that did it. I'm glad it was something that simple. I went and checked the history, and it doesn't look like there is any way to recover the shows that were deleted. I guess I'll just have to do the old-fashioned thing and wait for them to rerun it in 2 weeks

Many TV networks have their last 3-5 episodes available for viewing online. Otherwise, you could always look for a torrent of those episodes. They often are uploaded individually.

So I have some options since I am moving at the end of the month, early next month.

Where I live only Insight and AT&T is available cable providers

As for Dish companies, I've never had one, what's the preference between the two? Cable or Dish? Cost is a factor but not the only factor.

Direct TV has a special right now for $35 a month

Check into AAA discounts and other options online.

One thing you might wonder is storm disconnections. I have had a lot more downtime with Comcast and time warner than satellite.

Find a directv user on here to both get a $100 referral discount split over ten months.

If you go with HD, be sure to tell DirecTV you want it free for life. (Dish is offering that! ) But you do have to be a new customer.

Existing customers can receive HD free for 24 months. You need to call, ask for the credit, and sign up for auto bill pay (a requirement for HD free for life). You then receive a $10 credit for "24 Months Free HD Access" on your monthly bill. I have been receiving the credit since July 2010.

EDIT: I just checked, all I need to be "referred" is an account #. I'll be calling in tomorrow, so first come/first serve. PM me the account #, $100 off for you.

Damn it, I wish I had read this last night. I just signed up for Direct, getting it installed Saturday. I would have definitely used a referrer...anyone know if I can still do it? I'll probably call in tomorrow, so PM me your account #/Address or whatever I need to add you as a referrer.

Here's why I switched, for anyone considering a switch:

I've had Dish since '08. I initially chose Dish because of the Turbo-HD package, which had the 2 channels I refuse to go without, NFL Net and BIG10. Package price was $39.99, plus a few misc fees such as DVR etc. So, my bill was roughly $52.99. Fast forward a year: I decided I wanted another HD receiver to go in my bedroom, figured the HD TV was being wasted. So, add $6. Also, my "Dish Home Protection" had run out, add another $6. My bill is now roughly $63.99. Not terrible, but for what I'm getting, pretty high.

Well, this past February, Dish and my local CBS got into a pissing contest that resulted in CBS going dark for over a month. Therefore, I lost several key BIG10 games, and the entire B1G tourney. I was pissed.

Then in March, Dish notified me that my package was going up $10/month, but that they were giving me Starz free for a year. Now my bill is roughly $73.99. Fast forward to August, and my local FOX affiliate is no longer carried by Dish, and negotiations are pretty bad. Fuck this.

I switched to DirecTV.

1. Choice Xtra - way more channels than I was getting before.
2. HD DVR - Already had this, so basically the same setup.
3. HD Receiver - Got this for the "Whole Home DVR" option, I like to be able to access my DVR in HD from anywhere I have the receiver. This was a big plus.
4. Starz/Showtime/HBO/Cinemax free for 3 months - Nice, not a big deal. I got Starz/HBO free for 3 when I originally got Dish. So, nice, but nothing special.
5. NFL Sunday Ticket/Ticket to Go - WOOHOO!!! This was a huge selling point.
6. HD Locals - Should have had all these on Dish, but for some reason my local market and Dish Net do not get along. So, I eliminate the variable by adding Direct, who always has them.

So, I have to get a 2 year contract. If I take my monthly bill, including increases after the 1 year promo, I will pay: $63.99/month, plus taxes. Yes, thats way more channels and features for $10/month LESS than I paid before. Plus, I may decide to drop the second receiver and "Whole Home DVR" after the first year, if I don't like it. That would drop my bill to $54.99.

Why didn't I do this sooner...
