You can sign up for the HD-Pack for 3 free months.

Beyond that it is going to be $4.99 p.mo

Not a smart move in my view though, as those HD-Pack channels were the core of the D* HD offerings till Sat-10 and Sat-11 went live with the extended HD offerings.

I'm aware of that. do many called in to complain about it that it crashed their phone bank.

I told the guy that it's shady pulling a channel that was already part of the basic package and moving it and wanting to charge extra for it.

I told him if he'd like it if one day the company just pulled ESPN and then wanted more money for it and he said he agreed with me.

I can live without it but it was nice to get some good movies from the past without commercials in HD.

Incredibly expensive. I think you'd be better off getting a wireless PC card plan. Not sure if you can still get in on sprint's $30 unlimited plan, but the satellite internet setup costs are astronomical. They are no longer tied into the direcTV service, it's a separate thing through hughesnet.

Not to mention that the latency is AWFUL. Get better pings with dialup. The download speed if pretty good, but browsing is slower than piss, and gaming is pretty much impossible

Anyone else lose their HD audio during the OSU vs. LSU game?

I lost it from late 2nd quarter to late 3rd quarter. It worked fine on the non-HD Fox channel though.

Called DirecTV and complained and got free Showtime for a month as a result.
