Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

Week 1 of P90x2 is in the books. Here's a few of my random thoughts...

P90x2 is broken down into 3 phases. The first phase is called the Foundation Phase. Depending on your level of fitness, this phase lasts 3-6 weeks. The purpose of the Foundation Phase is to build a base for the 2nd phase or Strength Phase.

The workouts in the Foundation Phase really concentrate on your core and balance. Almost every exercise incorporates multiple muscle groups into a single move. Lots of moves on the stability ball and with the medicine balls.

The Plyocide workout is tough. It was almost a blend of the P90x Plyometrics workout & Insanity's Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

P90x2's Yoga workout is not as challenging or as long as P90x's. Don't get me wrong, though, it's still demanding.

The biggest thing I noticed after week 1 is the workouts point out the weakest areas of your core. My weak area happens to be my hip flexors.

I dropped 2 lbs after week 1. I'm pretty sure most of that could be attributed to improvements I made in my diet.

I'd highly recommend doing P90x and/or Insanity before attempting P90x2.

For those trying to lose weight and struggling with diet discipline, more on the fasting diet.

A few years back I was woking 16 - 17 hour days trying to save my business (sales are up over 1000% in ten years as the low cost provider bar none). I gained 100 pounds eating every meal for months on end in my office or out with the guys in the breakroom. Started this and it came right off with no problem or effort. Once the weight came off, the muscle was able to be seen as it was packed on which just reinforced the whole process.

I have had several weeks of no food on mondays. Only water and black coffee. You really won't get much out of the gym doing this so i quit lifting and bathing the body in calories so I could build muscle (and an assload of fat), it is more of a quick and easy lifestyle change that hoses you one day of the week to allow you to eat and drink as much as you want the other 6 days a week. This isn't to get you ripped or whatever, just to strip off a bunch of fat really quickly and get you ready once your appetite is shrunken to drop the program and hit the gym

Supposedly good for cancer prevention and prolonging life and improving brain performance and happiness per the linked video.

I felt it really shinks your appetite overall. Like your stomach shrinks or something. You don't overeat on the eating days suprisingly. Never felt the desire to load up before bed on Sunday to make it through or anything. Would wake up Tuesday and wouldn't be any hungrier than anyother day of the week. Too simple but it worked.

It really only takes the one day of discpline this way. Sounds like a good plan for many Americans. . . . .

You can do it anyday (or 2 per this video; this video allows you 500 calories on your 2 fasting days during the week). I liked Mondays because it was often after an enjoyable weekend and I would find I really didn't even miss the food.6

i know a bunch of strippers who do this to regulate their weight. Though I think they still get a little protein on their fast day from dudes.

223.6 this morning as i have kept it off, I can't overeat anymore, almost like my stomach put the restrictive band around it nturaly without the surgery. 240 - 245 bascally the entire time at OSU. your mileage may vary. you won't find an easier plan for sure though. no need to lift or diet other than no food on Mondays.

probably not a long term way of life, but better than being fat.

I've never heard of that one, but I think I'll have to try it. I've been stuck where I'm at since the beginning of the year after losing 50-60 lbs last year. Just have to find the right mix of 500 cals for the fast days. For me that will pretty much just be dinner since my breakfast and lunch are already low in cals and carbs. I'd love to drop the remaining 40-60 lbs over the next few months, but I've had a hard time pushing myself to diet so far this year. I could probably manage 1 or 2 days a week.
