Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

I've slowly been getting more out of shape since leaving high school and I'm pretty much at the point where I'm simply done with my current condition. I'm not huge or anything, but I used to be in shape and I'm not happy with where I am.

Anyways, I got together with a friend and got some diet tips. Getting some kettlebells tomorrow. Going to get this [Mark May] going. Wish me luck guys!

Started in late January and still going. Lost over 40 pounds and counting.

can't seem to find the "what are you eating" thread, so I'll post this here. Little dinner I whipped up tonight. Pepper and garlic beef satay with goat cheese grits and a bit of greens

ok, I've been at a stalemate for too long, I haven't been able to get away from 250 for about 2 months now, would dip down to 247, then eventually find my way back up..

I'm gonna go on some serious diet for one month, just looking on advice as to what I need to focus on eating.

I'm assuming I'll be eating a lot of grilled chicken and greens

I've been stuck in a similar rut this year, but it's probably because I haven't committed to a diet and lately haven't been working out like I had been. We're <3 weeks from my wife having baby number 2 so I'm hoping I can maintain through the hard months and then get back into a weight training mode by the end of the year. My goal is to get the wife and I to hit a hard core diet/workout program at the beginning of 2014. She didn't really try to bounce back after the first baby so I think she realizes that she has a problem to take care of especially after I dropped 70 lbs last year.

As far as a diet I've had good luck with cutting out sugar and processed carbs. I'll start my day with an egg, egg white, green pepper, onion, mushroom, turkey sausage scramble. I pre-make everything but the egg and just heat it up in the morning before I add in the egg. It will usually last in my fridge for a week or two before I have to make more. I eat a salad with lettuce, green olives, oil, and vinegar or celery and natural peanut butter for lunch. I know the salad is boring so I'm sure you could add any other veggies to it just avoid dressings or carb loaded add-ons. This is just the only salad I can choke down. For dinner I try to stick to meat and veggies as much as possible. My opinion is you can pretty much stuff your face with green veggies and still lose weight. In my normal day I'll throw in a couple snacks of a serving of almonds to bridge the gaps between the meals. When I'm hard core dieting I'll try not to cheat, but I might have one or two cheat meals a week.

My goal for next year is to turn 50 lbs of fat into 20 lbs of muscle. Good luck.

It really depends on what you've been doing that has led you to this plateau (and I don't necessarily mean that you've done anything bad). Some times the body needs a stimulus that will cause it to react differently to get on to the next level of your goals.
