Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

Thoughts on using Mio or the like with a CO2 machine? Is CO2 bad? I love me bubbles.

Thoughts? Hmm. Are you addicted to carbonation?

Last I checked, being a carbon based life form- I don't think Co2
In your drink can be harmful.

The issue with most carbonated beverages is they're (usually) highly
Acidic and loaded with sugar. The carbonation isn't a health concern I
Don't believe.

Carbonated drinks aren't bad. Sodastream is alright but they hose you on gas cylinders. I built one myself off directions on the internet that uses normal gas cylinders thay you can refill at the welding shop really cheap and then start off simple like carbonating your mio or some kool aid and then start creating your own drinks from scratch later. If you are lucky they will sell you a tank of nitrous which makes a creamier tasting bubble without the bite of CO2. I'll find the instructions and post them later if interested. Good activity project too if you got kids.

Nothing tastes as good as your own pop and you control what goes in them that way so you can tailor it to your diet.

Make your own pop machine

If doing this, I would pay up for a stainless steel carbonator attachment but that is about the only difference from what I built to what is shown here.

A small 5 pound tank fits in most household cabinets too. If you don't like the quality of tank you are going to get from your welding shop, buy a new brushed steel one and it will look acceptable in most kitchens.

Works great for making alcohol you home brew carbonated too. I love carbonating my meads and have no patience to let it carbonate in the bottle. I have damn near perfected my alcoholic versions of mountain dew and the code red mountain dew (same thing with some grenadine basically). Anytime you can cut out wait time from brew to drink is a huge win in my book.

Tip for anyone that tries this. Chill your product to be carbonated as much as possible. It takes in the bubbles more effectively if it is cold.

I started drinking coffee back in late January. I can drink it all day long if I want to. Lately though, I've had a tough time fully waking up for my morning workouts without first having coffee. I think I'm going to stop drinking it, because I hate that feeling. I'm not sure my eyes completely open until about noon. I'm usually a morning person, and this is annoying.

due to the acidity on an empty stomach, i don't like coffee first thing in the morning. however, i hate waking up and i need help. so i go with caffeine tablets. i'm up to 300 milligrams... and barely feel it. that's not good. i've already decided to taper slowly to nothing over the next 2-3 weeks. cold turkey would be suicide.

Why must eating healthy be so damn hard? Does anyone do HIIT workouts?

Somehow all good food was developed to be bad for you. Other than a good steak pretty much everything else that I love to eat has a bunch of carbs.

I don't know if anyone else has tried it, but I'm doing a couple challenges on dietbet.com. Basically you have 28 days from when it starts to lose 4%. You put cash into the pot and get back a share of the winnings if you succeed (minus the 15% the website takes off the top). I did it twice in April and won $35 on $75 in bets. I just started two new ones last night but didn't look at a calendar to see that they don't end until after Memorial Day. Normally I would need to drop 10 lbs over the next 3 weeks, but now I need to shoot for closer to 20 since we're going to Schmidt's on the 25th for all you can eat sausage. It's a once a year splurge for me so I need to make sure I have enough of a buffer to not lose my money.

I highly recommend dietbet for anyone that is already looking to lose weight and wants some extra incentive.

This "dietbet" is intriguing...

Hmm... maybe it just tasted that way to me and I didn't bother to look at the label from that point. Across a few brands I had decent luck with a couple fruit punches and lemonades - it was hit or miss. Every strawberry-kiwi I tried did nothing to mask the artificial sweetener.

I think most Mio flavors are garbage, but Berry Blast is the greatest thing of all time. Tastes like Kool-aid.

Thanks for posting about Intermittent Fasting. Have been trying it for a couple weeks and the results have been great. I am doing the 8 hr window to consume food and 16 hours of fasting. I have lost weight, workouts have not suffered at all, I am way more alert and focused in the morning. Very easy "diet" for me to follow. Naturally controls calories and allows me to eat outside of the normal lean meat veggie for every meal.

I think if I plateau on this I will try the warrior (4 hour eating window) diet. Then full day fasting to keep the guessing.

Would have never tried this if not for posting the links.
