Detroit Red Wings (Official Thread)

Lids looked human because the Wings had to play every game after February 1st like it was an elimination game for the playoffs. Before that he was having a bad year at least for him.

This year has been completely different. The team has avoided the injury bug for the most part *knock on wood* and they haven't dug themselves a hole to climb out of with uninspired/crappy play.

generally that was my point, no matter how much a freak he might be guys only have so much umph for the year, hes no spring chicken no matter what kind of freak he is, monitoring his minutes and situations (not all minutes are created equal pk, tight games, physicality etc). so yes

not sure if you were drunk when you wrote this or not. Dont worry, most of my post are. But the Wings are full of Injuries and are the best team in the NHL. This team should be stout this year and easily get to the WCF's

really? sure they have a couple of guys who have been hurt, but they are far from "full of" injuries.

anyone know the record for most shots ever and still be shut-out? I think the Wings may have broken it last night since they don't have ONE player who can go to the net without taking a wrist shot on the way in....

51 shots and they couldn't get one home. Give credit to Quick, but holy shit that looked like a playoff game where they get a ton of good shots and chances and can't bury them.

10-2-1 in November, now 3-3-1 in December.

2 shots in detroit=1 shot in the rest of the league. (most bogus sog statkeeping in the league). [therefore if your fantasy teams needs sog, pick up a guy from the wings]

Usually yes, but that wasn't really the case last night.

They were getting a shit-ton of good shots and good chances, but Quick was all over the place stopping them.

Essentially he had a night not unlike JS Giguere did against the Wings in 2003 in the playoffs.
