Malkin's was better.

And no Jake, beating the Wings this year isn't that big a deal. That run from 1990 to 2009 was great, but this team is in need of an overhaul.

Gotta love 20 year dynasties though :banger: :biggrin:

2-1 San Jose after the 1st. With the way Detroit doesn't score goals this year, it might as well be 6-1.

The rout is on, unfortunately.

You could stick 5 AHLers out there against Detroit's best line and break even at this point :shake:

I don't know how a team that looked so fucking lost Wednesday could play as well as they have tonight (they are going to win 5-2 against Trashville) and as well as they did at times on Monday.

They'll win most of their games against anyone in the league if they play defense like they did tonight. They limited both the turnovers and the shots and they BLOCKED shots for the first time all year long.

another game, a completely different wings team shows up.

This time they are back to skating along the boards and giving up big rebounds and turnovers deep in their own end.

chicago has something to do with it to be sure, but Detroit isn't even TRYING to go at the net right now. They are content to take shots from the boards and hope for tips although there's rarely anyone between the shooter and the net :smash:

Actually at that point I was trying to get Ella down for a nap so I didn't get back to the game until it was 4-2 :wink:

This game was mostly about what the Wings currently ARE and what they COULD/SHOULD be.

The first and third periods are closer to what the Wings are - a team that has wild swings of inconsistency and has issues getting the puck on net.

The 2nd period is what the Wings could be - a team that drives to the net, sets screens and plays solid defense and blocks shots.

that's 3-1 since the break. I'll take it, but I bet the lollercoaster continues.

I have two tickets for sale for the Red Wings game in Columbus on April 9th. I bought the tickets well before I realized I'd not even be in the state that whole weekend. Thought I'd offer them here first!

They are in section 116, Row M, Seats 5 & 6. Face value is $73 each. If anyone is interested, just let me know. :)

That's only about 10 seats down from where I sit. Something to keep in mind for any prospective buyers.

(Sorry, buy I think you're probably going to have to drop the price now. :lol:)
