After drafting former
Michigan Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson in the fifth-round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the
Jacksonville Jaguars appeared to have big plans. Robinson was listed as an “offensive weapon,” but he has yet to provide a spark for the team this season.
In late September, the team switched Robinson’s position to wide receiver, but now he is showing up elsewhere on the official depth chart.
Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley recently announced that Robinson would be the team’s No. 2 running back.
“We bumped him up to number two and we’re intrigued by him at the tailback spot,” Bradley said,
via the team’s official website. “I would say that we’re going to still continue with that process.”
Robinson has always excelled with the ball in his hands, so the team will hope that he can finally find a home in the backfield.
With his speed and vision, Robinson could certainly make a transition to running back, but it will be interesting to see how many touches they are able to get him moving forward.
