I tip the waiter/waitress more. They do more work, plain and simple. I always tip the delivery person though. A better question would be, what percent do you tip for good service at a restaurant? I always do 20% and go up (or down) from there.

These days, they're also starting at $8.00+ an hour plus $1.50 - $2.00 per order delivery surcharge.

Fuck that.

I used to generously tip delivery drivers. Not anymore.

Servers: 20% - as high as 30% for great service, as low as 10% for bad service

And I refuse to order for delivery. It just doesn't make sense. Pay $1.50 for delivery, throw in $3 tip and I have to wait longer to get my order? Fuck that shit. I'll go pick it up.

I admit it... I was a pizza delivery guy. It was a great summer/winter break job while I was in college.

So speaking as an old driver the waiter gets more of a tip. Why? cuz they get paid less per hour than a pizza delivery guy AND they serve you more (refills, bringing out drinks constantly, etc) My average tip is 20%, less if they take awhile to get me refills or more if they are exceptional.

The pizza guy? My rule of thumb is $1 for every $10 of the order, plus any change I leave for the guy. Now if the total is $15.99 I might give him $2. When I was a driver as long as I got that I was happy.

The most evil thing is the delivery charge they now add. Half the time that money does go to the driver, the other half it is the pizza place's way to make more money out of you.

In my days of delivering the pizza place would normally give the driver a flat fee per delivery (when I started it was $.50 per delivery and then eventually $.75) But now it seems the pizza places are handing down that cost to the consumer which just sucks in my opinion.

i stick with the multiples of 5 rule. minimum tip for any type of delivery service starts at 5 bucks and goes up (or down) depending on cost and quality of service. being female, attractive, and flirting with me counts as bonus tip. especially if it is so blatant the gf gets pissed. jealous women amuse me.
