Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

Go to Philly.com and read op-ed pieces and comments.

The 80% sane/20% lunatic fringe is really starting to crystallize (I'd offer it's more like 95/5).

You are only going to get a disproportionate amount of the Joe Ped hardcore types at the sports sites. Being outraged over the insane is a waste of time imo, they aren't going to all of a sudden deal with reality so fuck em, they are nuts anyway.

I get his angle --- basically they interviewed people (and didn't others) and read through documents and emails and converted that to a story. Can you recall your exact conversations (I mean word for word) with people from a week ago let alone years ago. Also, have you ever misinterpreted the tone or intent of email or post on a website? I also agree with him that today's media is incredibly lazy and more about the speed of putting out saucy articles than a reporter spending time to educate themselves (read beyond the summary page of the report) on a topic and putting out something factual and intelligent. Be careful on taking any reporters story (sports or not sports) as fact. Like I said, I get his angle but disagree with his opinion on the value of the report and agree with you on what did he expect.

I know what he was doing. It's the same thing Limbaugh did with the McNabb/media comments. I would just kindly ask Ziegler to keep his politics out of this issue - it's demeaning and insulting to the severity of what we're discussing.

UCLA guy posting on BWI that the statue should be torn down...Delusional responses ensue:

As an 'educated man' you are kind of dim. I would guess an engineer. Ever here of Due Process?...Joe, like the janitors, probably knew if the spoke out of line they would be fired.

The BoT couldn't fire Joe for being an over the hill parody of a coach...but he'd get fired for reporting a serial child rapist. Right. The admission that psu would fire the janitor for reporting a crime is the cherry on top.

Was just at Giant Eagle and some employee was actually working behind the meat counter wearing a Penn State tshirt. This old man was reading him the riot act when I walked by, something to the extent of "how could you even be wearing a shirt like that right now."

I hadn't thought of this, but it seems that the current perception is that wearing Penn State gear is akin to supporing pedophilia. Damn.

The university tried to fire/ask him to step down on a couple of occasions and he said "Fuck off, I ain't leaving" and he was there til the bitter end. So, these delusional fuckwits really have left this realm of reality and are living in Joe Ped land.

I'm sorry, but the available EVIDENCE (as opposed to the b.s. pre-ordained conclusions of Louis Freeh) does not support your statement.

The evidence I saw last night while perusing the Freeh report pretty much supports the OPs statement. I find it really amusing that none of the Pedtards have read the report cover to cover, and most of them say they never will, yet, according to them, it is full of lies and contortions of the truth. This is exactly why the statue needs to come down, and football operations suspened for at least a couple of years to dull down the lunatic fanatacism we are seeing coming from Slappy Valey.

I tried looking last night and couldn't find it. I could have sworn that there was a video of Pederno speaking about the situtation where he says something to the effect of "Well, you have these victims, or whatever you want to call them....."

Anybody else remember this?

Yes it was when he did his address outside his home. When the mob formed around his home for saint paterno.

I agree the statue should come down. I feel bad for the Penn State students and alumni (the ones with proper perspective) right now for having to deal with the pain and embarrassment of failures not at all attributable to them. But in order for the rest of the university to move and in order for Penn State to stand for something other than football, Paterno and, by extension, pedophilia cover-up, they need to separate themselves from JoPa and the JoPa Era. I can respect that this will be difficult for them as so much about Penn State is wrapped up in what Paterno did for the university. But that type of misplaced idolotry is a big part of the reason why they're in this position in the first place.
