Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

Now what? Reply
With all the unpredictable things in the world, Joe was a rock. He was always there. You could count on him every day for 61 years and I'm sure even longer. Now what

Jesus. They truly are cultists adrift in a hostile world without their Dear Leader.

It is going to take at least a generation for that university to approach anything resembling a normally functioning institution.

Also anyone who, even for one moment, thought NFBuck or ORD were over the line with that "cult" characterization - you owe the two of them retroactive greenies.

Jo Pa creating a "cult" in State Penn is of his own doing. He became bigger than PSU. If not a "cult" that's probably a dictatorship. Neither is good.
I applaud Ord and NFBuck for being completely honest.

The two greatest coaches of all time can now face each other in the ultimate showdown in the afterlife. Too bad ESPN won't be able to cover it. My money would still be on Rockne.

Rest in peace, Joe Pa. I'll be seeing you soon.

They blindly followed their leader, or at least, the "idea" of him because they were mesmerized by his power...not out of fear of retribution. They are worshipping him in death and acting as if he was a saint because they've been brainwashed into believing it as absolute fact, not out of fear of retribution. They shun any and all outsiders and are profoundly upset by dissenting opinions. That is a cult.

They're no different from those Heaven's Gate loonies, Branch Dividians, or any number of fundamentalist mormon sects operating on the fringes of society in the far western wilderness, in their blind loyalty towards their "Dear Leader".
