The title says "OSU is closing in on another commitment". Solomon will be up at tOSU tomorrow having one-on-one meetings with the coaches. tOSU is his clear #1. His dad says it is too early to commit, but Solomon would like to have it done before the season starts.

No matter how this turns out, this whole thing has been a great exercise by the Ohio State staff, AND the Lakota West coaching staff in

Mending Fences

Re-Building Bridges

and

Keeping Options Open.

Kudos to both sets of recruiting/coaching staffs in making sure Solomon has ALL the options he deserves open to him.

Seriously fellow posters, I am very impressed with the common sense manner in which this is all playing out.

I will tell everyone this much.....I know for a fact that Thomas' name was mentioned in the same breath as Martin's when talking about must have Defensive players in this class.

That is saying a lot!!!

It seems like Thomas and Barksdale did complete 180's in the past few weeks. JB was a lock and we were playing catch-up with ST. Now ST is a lock and we're playing major catch up with JB.

And so goes the world of recruiting. ANYTHING can happen.

We weren't really playing catch-up with Thomas fwiw. Only if you count before we offered. I was told a week ago that OSU leads but I didn't know he was going to commit that soon. Great news.

Great news if he is indeed ready to commit. I knew OSU lead so it was only a matter of time...

IMO, Solly is the best college prospect Lakota West has ever produced, and he really isn't that far behind Martin at all. Again, GREAT get!

Thomas said he had a great visit to tOSU. He met with Coach Heacock a couple of times and Coach Peterson gave him a full tour of the facilities. Coach Heacock said they would like to use him as a down lineman to rush the passer and as a LEO linebacker. Solomon will schedule his official visit to tOSU very soon. He has a visit scheduled Nov. 3rd with NC State, and he may take it after that. He says he will likely unofficial for the Cincy game.
