Scout profile says he's committed to ND to play lacrosse.

I think that I saw he plans on visiting with Coach Myers while visiting with Coach Meyer. Anyone who is a current ND LAX commit would likely be a welcome candidate on Coach Nick's sideline as well.

Edit: Sorry no linky... Will re-edit if I see it again.

Funny enough, I saw his film for the first time last night in the "2014 In-State Players To Watch" thread. Impressive film. Looks ideal for the Star position, especially with us looking to put 5 and potentially 6 DB's on the field at the same time, but would be a great fit at OLB or a hard-hitting S with some ball skills. His 4.0 GPA is just icing on the cake.

Ohio State offered Moeller junior free safety Sam Hubbard this morning, according to Moeller coach John Rodenberg.

Hubbard, who is 6 feet 5 and 220 pounds, also has offers from Stanford, Illinois, Louisville, Miami University, Ohio University and Boston College.

Hubbard is verbally committed to Notre Dame for lacrosse.

He was second-team all-GCL South in football this past season. He had 75 tackles (34 solo), two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two interceptions.

Changing sports could do wonders for the college recruitment of Sam Hubbard (Cincinnati/Archbishop Moeller).

An accomplished lacrosse player who has committed to Notre Dame, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Hubbard talked with his football coach John Rodenberg about the gridiron and maybe switching sports allegiances.

?When I told him I thought he?d get offers from some football schools, he gave me a list,? Rodenberg said. ?He said, ?I really like Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame or Stanford.? I said, ?Well, I?ll call those schools and see what their interest is.?

?Stanford, Ohio State and Michigan got back to me real quick. Ohio State is a big offer for him. He?s an intelligent kid. He knows what it takes to compete at a high level. He went up to talk to Coach [Urban] Meyer a few weeks ago on a visit. He?s excited. He thinks they?re going to win a national championship at Ohio State. I don?t know if it?s definitely changing sports, but I would say it?s changing pretty heavily toward football.?

Just curious, was he offered a full lacross scholarship at Notre Dame?

I can't say for fact, but I doubt that he's on a full athletic 'ship for LAX. Fully funded D1 programs get 12.6. A lot of programs will split it up as a couple get the full 1-year non-renewable, a bunch will split up halves or less, some kids will get needs based funds and a couple more are pure walk-ons.

Sister is at OSU already. That can't hurt our chances.

I would guess it will come down to the Buckeyes and the Irish (if they offer in football).

With a kid from moeller, I'd never rule out BC or michigan st either

In this case, I would. OSU, Michigan, Stanford, and Norte Dame are the players here.

I think there's a while to go until NSD, hard to believe that he's only looking at those 4 solely for another 10mos. There's a big familiarity between his HS and those 2 colleges as well. Not saying you're wrong, but there's certainly a lot of time until this saga is over
