"We're doing great," Mission Viejo, Calif., defensive end Ryan Williams said when asked how his senior season has been going. "We just beat Long Beach Poly in a big game, 41-14. We go against Concord DeLaSalle this weekend. We're 4-0."
Williams says a few schools are still calling.
The 6-foot-5 and 240 pound Williams had scholarship offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma and Colorado before committing to the Buckeyes early in the summer.
"I'll probably wait till my season is completely over before I make my official visit to Ohio State," Williams said. "It will probably be in December."
"I talk to coach Fickell every week. I've watched a few of their games. I watched Saturday unfortunately."
"It's hard to believe I'll be at Ohio State in a year. They said if I can get significant playing time as a freshman I'll play. If not I'll redshirt."
Asked if other schools are still recruiting him, Williams said, "I still get some calls. But I tell them I'm committed and they don't call back."
Williams is the No. 10 weakside defensive end prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 25 prospect overall in the state of California.
