DE Robert Rose (Official Thread)

Rose should back up Richardson, and then take over. Whether that is fater the season or in the middle, it will happen.

Here we go again with annointing a recruit as a starter next season. Richardson has improved greatly and will be very good. Rose will not overtake him by the end of the year, but will be definitely ready to take over once Richardson is gone.

Rose cou;ld easily make the 2-Deep next year with Worhtington and Williams probably missing the whole year with the knee injuries.

Richardson, Wilson, Gholston and Rose/Barrow... at end would be scary good!!!

Exactly what I was thinking!
I really wasn't expecting to see much, but damn!
I was shocked by how much he dominated.
This is very exciting because of need at DE.

I agree Mili that a stellar performance in an all-star HS game is not a guarantee that Rose begins next year.

But, all that aside I am delighted we are getting a player with the potential to have such great impact in defensive play. He is surely fast, and indeed looked like a man among boys at times today.

Welcome aboard Robert Rose - and when you start on the field is less important to me than the fact that your first college start will be as a Buckeye.

"But I'm from Ohio and OSU is where I belong."

This sounds strikingly familiar to what Mr. Smith said in his ABC pre-game for the Fiesta Bowl beat-down......................................................................

Gotta love the chain.....!!!:osu:

Rose's best football is ahead of him at this point. Give him some time to learn the technique of playing defensive end combined with that speed, lethal combination.

I am no expert and am only guessing at technique when I watch these guys, but I was very impressed by the use of his hands and leverage to get around his blocker(s) and how he would get his left hand on the QB's body while getting his right hand around to the QB's throwing arm. I think that is great considering he has been playing two years. The coaching at OSU will only improve this kid.

Rose is going to be awesome. He has hardly played football and he was awesome out there today. They started to double team him early b/c he was getting so much pressure on the QB. His step off the edge is amazing. I see him getting some pt next year, if Williams and Worthington arent fully recovered or he just passes them.
