I thought he looked pretty darned good in the all star game, one thing that I would like to see from him though is to play till the whistle. I noticed on a couple of plays, it seemed like he was just jogging in his pursuit.

Does Rose redshirt 2006 or do folks think he can see action right away?

I think he's good enough to play right away but it would be smarter to RS him. We don't need him right now and it would be a waste of talent to not redshirt him and loose a year of eligibility.

To me it looked like Rose had a great All Star game because he was speed rushing up field every down and the 1 armed tackle couldn't handle the speed. A good OC is going to take advantage of that by running a draw or screen inside of Rose's rush. It will probably take him some time to learn to read what the offense is doing and not get out of position. Rose does seem to have a load of potential as a pass rusher. If he plays next season it will be in this role.

I agree with Scarletinmyveins. With Richardson, Patterson, Gholston, Wilson, Barrow, Worthington and R.Williams, would it not make sense to RS Rose in '06 and give him the added year of coaching to read screens and draws and make Rose more than a third-down edge rusher? BTW, our DE cup seems to be flowing over not to mention the possibilities of Dublin and Troutman - yikes!

i don't know if it has yet been mentioned on this board, but worthy of note is that robert just started playing football 2 years ago. INCREDIBLE.

if you watched the AAA-game...you could see how raw and ridiculous his talent is. add a couple more years of playing experience to this and WHOA, he is going to be special. mark my words.

I there any chance of moving Rose to a LB/DL position like Bobby Carpenter? :p

Just a note: I loved the way he chose OSU at the game Saturday. No "hat tricks" or fun and cheeky shenanigans. Also when they asked, "Why OSU?" he responded with something along the lines of "it is like family there." It makes me very happy to hear players and recruits say things like that about the program.
