Not to pile on here but other than Troy Smith what Glenville guys have earned their degree? I'll cut Whitner and Ginn some slack for turning pro early, but Jamario O'Neal? Curtis Terry? Ray Small? Robert Rose? C'mon guys! Finish!!!

Ray Small is still in school. I don't see the importance of what other Glenville kids who earned or did not earn a degree has to do with Rob Rose.

I don't think he is implying that going to glenville makes you dumb, I think he is simply saying that they may be correlated. I hope this report is not true.

What are you talking about? Both Small and Rose are set to get their degrees, both only needing a few classes to get their 4-year.

Ohio State Buckeyes' Ray Small, Rob Rose proud to be leaving OSU as graduates despite not fulfilling football stardom

"...Rose said he's six classes shy of an African-American studies degree, while Small said he's seven classes away from a sociology degree. Both are on track to graduate in the spring and have been told by an academic adviser they'll be the second and third Glenville players with Ohio State degrees, joining Smith..."

Not so fast on The Worldwide Leader's breaking story, Columbus WBNS is reporting Rose and Carter are not ineligible for the Rose!

Despite an ESPN report on Tuesday that Ohio State will be without two regulars for the Rose Bowl, a source told 10TV News that no players have been ruled ineligible.

According to the report, freshman receiver Duron Carter was ruled ineligible along with defensive end Robert Rose.

I think this article is accurate- that on Tuesday nothing was final regarding this matter.

Appeals of grades were decided today, as I understand. So, yesterday they weren't ineligible. Doesn't mean that they may not be so today or tomorrow.

Small broke a team rule, source says

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Pending any possible reprieve, it appears Ohio State seniors Ray Small and Rob Rose likely won't be with the Buckeyes when they take on Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.

Sources close to the program yesterday said the two, as well as sophomore running back Bo DeLande, would be ineligible because of a violation of team rules.

Neither the school nor coach Jim Tressel has issued an official statement on the matter, which indicates it might not be final.

A backup on the defensive line, Rose had to do extra work last week to maintain his academic eligibility for the bowl.

"Violation of team rules" is a catch-all phrase that can cover anything from missing team meetings or practices to failing the mandatory drug testing all players must submit to in the month leading up to the bowl.
