DE Noah Spence (Official Thread)

I think Roy Hall is a great role model for Spence.

Not only was Hall at Ohio State for 2 National Title games, and gives back to the community with the Driven Foundation, but he also is a very close friend of Maurice Clarett. He has seen the rise and fall of a great player that fails to make the correct life decisions. Roy fully understands where things can go wrong quickly with a standout player at a big time college.

Interesting...

Most likely it's just Meyer letting him use the facilities. Nothing more.

I think it is a very good sign. To me it says (and I'm just speculating):

He's still in Columbus.
He's still doing what the coaches/medical staff expect of him to overcome his "drug problem".
He's still is in school.
He's still is on the team.
He's still keeping in shape.
He's still planning on being eligible and playing next year.

It is a great sign, no doubt. I was only addressing his chances of playing this year.

He is not on the team, although he is still on scholarship...

Zilch. Best case scenario, he plays to start the next season. And hopefully he gets completely clean and does what he needs to, because this team needs him bad next year with both Miller and Frazier graduating. Bosa and Spence would be a deadly combo on the ends, with Washington and Schutt inside. I really like Holmes rotating in as a rush end but we need Spence to have a top DL.

Yes we really do need spence. Obviously it's easier to say now that JT has done so well but Spence to me is clearly the biggest loss. I have a question though, will Spence if he comes back next year get a Red Shirt for this season? Meaning he will be a RS Junior next year?
