I agree with that, but a stud football player like Spence is planning on going to the NFL. Yes he needs to get clean first and that if the FIRST priority, but then he's probably planning on going back to football. To get there he needs to play college ball, so this rule forces him into a more stressful world of transferring and leaving any support structure he has. He'll also get away from those that led him down this rabbit hole, but that should be more a decision of the student and his family, not the conference forcing him to transfer. As of right now he has to transfer if you assume he wants to play football at the next level, and that's not up to him or his family. This is making the assumption the he still, in the end, has a desire to play in the NFL. I'm just saying that in an attempt to keep a high standard for the student athletes, the big ten could on occasion cause more distress to a student.Exactly. At this point I would think that football falls somewhere well below "being able to function normally in day to day life" on the list.
