DE Mike Vrabel (All B1G, All American, Pro Bowl, All Pro, Super Bowl Champion)

I'm surprised that Vrabel would return for this coming year when it is not guaranteed that Fickell will even coach after this year. Most people think he won't because of the status position that the HC is.

So it could be a "one and done" deal for him because I doubt if a new coach would keep anyone currently on the staff. Why not wait until this year is over...see who the next coach is and THEN try to catch on with him?

If I was OSU, I would cut ties with this entire coaching staff after this year. Fickell has zero name recognition and no one knows what kind of real coach he is. Even if they do passably well this year, it will be because of Tressel's players and Asst Coaches.

Would you like to have a Bill Stewart, like WVU had when Rodriguez left them? Just because he won an interim game? I wouldn't. I'd try to get someone more experienced than Fickell.

Not sure what article these originally came from, but BCast posted these Bill Belichick quotes on Vrabel on the OZone forum:

"During his Patriots career, there was no player more respected for his football intellect and revered for his leadership by his teammates than Mike,"Belichick said.
"He was elected a team captain by his peers and is a player who I think everyone knew was destined to become a coach after his NFL playing career was over.
"Mike Vrabel is as well-suited for coaching as any player I have ever coached. He has a tremendous feel for people, players, coaches and what his team needs regardless of the situation. He is outstanding in his knowledge of the game, which contributed to his excellence as a player. I have no doubt Mike will develop tough, intelligent, fundamentally sound winners."

Who do you think helped recruit those players and just so happened to be one of the Asst Coaches?

Fickell has been in charge of our best unit both individually and as a team (LBs / Defense). I think he is a big part of that, and hope that his young energetic fiery attitude resonates in the locker room and we come out and shit stomp everyone while proving that the train will keep on rollin...

Smart Hire

In recruiting for the last 12 years and working with executives this shows Fickell has the goods for this job. Fickell now has an ally on staff. This is critical for any successful manager. Do you think that JT hiring his brother was just for his credentials with RB's. Love the youth movement and energy it will bring to the staff..

Numby or Buckeyesin07
Or possibly you after 12+ beers
Actually, after many beers, I flip out on the people that think they can out-coach people paid to do it.

Numby will maybe possibly probably say something that could be construed as questioning the coaches, but he'll claim his post may have been possibly taken out of context. Possibly.

buckeyesin07 is just batshit crazy. There's no telling what he's capable of.
