DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

If he's waiting for an ND offer and is going to trip there it's hard for me to consider OSU the favorite. If he's so sold on Tressel and OSU, why not get it over with? I can't believe someone who's allegedly so impressed with Tressel could even think about playing for a scumbag like Weis.

FWIW, most ND people (and others close to Wells) aren't confident that the visit will take place...

Because an official visit is a free trip. You'd actually be kind of silly not to take a free trip. Probably why USC gets visits from everyone

I would feel a lot better if it did not take place. It also doesn't make much sense to me. Another DE in this class is a big need, IMHO.

Next time you get recruited to play major D1 football we promise it will make sense...

Glad to see Keith is being very judicious throughout this process...he knows he might have made a mistake my committing so early to FSU and now is taking a very mature approach to this whole process to ensure he makes the best decision for himself and his family.

A free trip to South Bend?

I hate ND as much as the next guy (actually probably moreso than anyone on this board considering my team actually plays them every year) but everything I've heard indicates it's a really nice campus and you still can't deny their history and tradition. Plus, Weis can always promise early PT, which can be a draw to some recruits. I think Wells would either have to redshirt at ND to be a 3-4 DE (to put on a lot of weight) or he'd have to be an outside backer. Personally I see him more as a 4-3 DE, but I don't know....
