DE Jaylahn (JT) Tuimoloau (Owner, Giant Erector Set, All B1G)

Not sure I understand that move. Is this just a verbal agreement that the two coaches will let him play both? It shouldn't matter to the kid what sport the schollie is in (although if I understand the order of precedence correctly it would count against football in any case).

My understanding is the scholarship will count against both Football & Basketball in the case they were to play both sports. Could be wrong though.

Oh8ch is correct, the scholarship will count against just 1 sport and it would be football. Now I'm not sure of this: but I think the "order of precedence" for head count sports is determined by the revenue the sport produces, etc. i.e. it's counted against the highest revenue producing sport.

We need to offer him a baseball scholarship ASAP.

Baseball only has 11.7 scholarships and isn't a "head count" sport, i.e. they give partials. In addition, baseball can only have up to 27 guys splitting the 11.7 scholarships.

Washington insider posted today that Ohio State is definitely in the lead here still.

Excellent news.

Not to put too much emphasis on a single recruit; to me, the defensive tackle position is one of the most important in recruiting. There have been times when Ohio State has lacked great playmakers at one position or another and has still fielded great teams. That has seldom been the case at defensive tackle.

From 1968-1977, Ohio State always had a tackle on the team that would be an All-American at one point in his career. The torch was passed from Stillwagon to Hasenohrl to Cusick to Brown. Then Ohio State didn't have an All-American at DT for 16 years, till 1993 (Big Daddy). They also went through one of the worst runs of mediocrity that the Buckeyes have ever suffered (thank Woody it's never been worse than mediocrity for more than a season at a time).

Every recruit that signs with the Buckeyes is an addition to the family and gets my respect, but this guy is the one target in this class that I most want the Buckeyes to land.

Curious as to how they conclude that since he doesn’t really talk to the media. Conjecture from those closest to him — coaches, friends/family?

Not trying to sound negative, literally just curious.

Maybe they have a contact at UW, USC, etc that says they don’t talk to him much and/or the contact can just tell he’s not hot on them?

The writer was probably corrected by someone close to the situation. He (the insider) told the Husky 247 board that they led last week. Today he posted we lead and Oregon is probably 2nd.

I don’t think it went over so well.
