DE Jamel Turner (Butler Community College; transfer to Akron)

uhs defeats liberty benton 21-0 in the state championship. two late interceptions for touchdowns. jamel was flushing the quarterback out and was bringing him down on the last pick for a touchdown.

congratulations to jamel and uhs on a perfect season.

Take this for what it is worth

and I am sure it can and probably will change. I recently talked with somebody I know, who knows him. After inquiring where Jamel was interested in, and hoping it would be OSU, I was surprised he is interested in the SEC teams around Alabama. The reason is he does not have family living here and wants to be around his family. He is currently staying with a mentor/coach. I think its his dad's family that lives down there.

Hopefully he becomes a Buckeye. There is a whole lot of time. We will see!

The guy I know used to coach at UHS.

Strange considering he was wearing an Ohio State jersey after his game today.

Turner looked amazing in yesterday's game. He is a lock for a 5 star imo and likely the top LB in the country for '10. His range, athleticism, frame, and potential are just amazing. Only thing I didn't like was his effort on run plays sometimes. At times he was pretty timid in traffic and didn't try to get in on the tackle. I realize he was playing contain sometimes but there were many plays where I thought he could have got in on the play. He could also use his flipper better but regardless, Turner is in amazing talent.

Ya... and that certain LB that wore the OSU t-shirt in practice during the AA.. Oh, wait... he went to Tennessee:wink2:.

On Turner though, sounds like he's a stud... OSU is the real LB U
